GACE Special Education Mathematics and Science Practice Test
Special education involves working with students with learning disabilities caused by physical, mental and emotional challenges. In order to work as a special education teacher in the preschool through 8th grade levels in Georgia, you’ll need to pass the GACE Special Education Mathematics and Science exam.
This two-hour test consists of 70 questions. There are two subareas: mathematics and instruction. Both subareas are weighted equally, at 50%. You will be tested on numerous math concepts, including operations, properties, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, number theory, algebra, functions, geometry, probability, statistics and data. The science portion also consists of many concepts, including scientific inquiry, scientific knowledge, appropriate and safe use of lab materials, how science and technology impact society, physical science, properties of energy and matter, chemistry, mechanics, electricity, magnetism, waves, optics, anatomy, genetics, ecology, geology, space science, climate and major features of the universe.
