Hopeful Massachusetts educators in Visual Arts will need to take the MTEL Visual Arts exam in order to obtain licensure. This exam is a computer based test, containing 100 multiple-choice questions and 2 open response items. Examinees are given 4 hours to complete the exam, not including a 15 minute tutorial. In total, the exam fees are 155$. The content of the exam is in 4 domains: (I) Creating Works of Visual Art, (II) Visual Art in Context, (III) Interpretation, Analysis, and Evaluation of Art, and (IV) Visual Art and Other Disciplines.
