NCLEX Review: Newborn Cord Blood Gases
Nurses caring for newborns need to knowledgeable of umbilical cord blood gases. In this NCLEX review video, we will look at content you need to know for the NCLEX including why cord blood gases are drawn, the procedure for drawing them, difference between umbilical artery and vein, and normal reference ranges. We’ll review the signs of neonatal respiratory acidosis, metabolic acidosis, respiratory alkalosis, and metabolic alkalosis.
