NCLEX Review: Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Defects

Cardiac conditions can affect individuals at a very young age. In this video we will look at some common cardiac conditions in childhood. In preparation for the NCLEX test, you should be able to answer the following questions: How do you define cardiac defect? How many different types of cardiac defects are there? What is heart failure and what are heart murmurs? What is an arrhythmia? What are the four types of cardiomyopathy? We will also cover some of the most commonly seen congenital heart defects, rheumatic heart disease and rheumatic fever, and Kawasaki disease. After watching this video, you will be able to confidently explain what each of these conditions is on the NCLEX exam.
