What’s on the SAT Math Test?
The SAT math questions will focus mainly on four areas of math: algebra, advanced math, problem-solving and data analysis, and geometry and trigonometry.
SAT Math Prep
Most of the questions on the SAT math exam are going to be multiple-choice, but there will be some student-produced response questions that will require you to come up with your own answer. You may also encounter some parts of the exam that ask multiple questions about a single given scenario.
When inputting in your answers, you can answer in fraction or decimal form and will not need to reduce fractions to their lowest terms, but mixed numbers will need to be converted to improper fractions. For these questions, positive answers can use up to 5 characters, and negative answers can use up to 6 characters, including the negative sign. Instructions are available in Bluebook during the test.
