NCLEX Review: Pharmacology Mnemonics

Pharmacology can be difficult for both new and seasoned nurses alike. The goal of this pharmacology mnemonics NCLEX review video is to help simplify some difficult concepts. We will start by looking at the six “RIGHTS” of drug administration to prevent medication errors. We will then discuss emergency drugs to “LEAN” on, or drugs that prevent a patient from deteriorating to an arrest situation. Then, “IDEA” for slow heart rate and low blood pressure will go over different medications for these conditions. The fourth mnemonic is “ABCDE” for atrial arrhythmias. And finally, we will introduce “PALS” for ventricular arrhythmias. After you watch this video, you should feel confident about pharmacology as you go into your NCLEX test.
