What is the Hellenistic Period?

The Hellenistic Period refers to the growth and expansion of Greece’s cultural influence in the world. It started after the death of Alexander the Great and lasted until the emergence of Rome as a world superpower. Alexander the Great would conquer a part of the Persian Empire and a group of Greeks would move in and begin imposing the Greek culture on the people living there.
