The longest side of a right triangle, called the hypotenuse, \(H\), can be calculated using the Pythagorean theorem, together with the lengths of the other two sides, which are given as 6 and 8 units.
 

\(H^{2}=\left(S_{1}\right)^{2}+\left(S_{2}\right)^{2}\)
\(H^{2}=6^{2}+8^{2}\)
\(H^{2}=36+64\)
\(H^{2}=100\)
\(\sqrt{H^{2}}=\sqrt{100}\)
\(H=10\)

 
Therefore, using \(H=10\), the perimeter, \(P\), can be calculated as follows: \(P=10+6+8=24\). The perimeter of the triangle is 24 units.
