When Was the Mesolithic Period?

The Mesolithic Period (The Middle Stone Age) began about 10,000 years ago and ended when farming became a regular practice. The start and end dates of this period vary by geographical region, but it falls between the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods. During the Paleolithic Period, only hunting and gathering occurred, and during the Neolithic, domestication of plants and animals occurred.
