The MTTC Political Science exam is offered in two formats: paper-based and computer-based. The computer-based format has a time limit of 2 1/2 hours while the paper-based format has a testing period of up to 4 1/2 hours. Both formats contain 100 multiple-choice questions. The minimum passing score is set at 220. With those rules in mind, here is the breakdown of the subject material within the test: Political Science Concepts and Skills (15%), Foundations and Operation of Government in the United States (40%), The Political Process and U.S. Citizenship (15%), and Interdisciplinary Perspectives (30%).
