When I first started to ask myself what I wanted to be in life, I remembered the valuable lesson my parents instilled in me. They said that the right choice will always lie on something I really love to do, that I am good at, and most importantly, that impacts positively other people’s lives. Ever since, I have always kept in mind those insightful words and prepared myself in the search of my dreams. Today, I am strongly convinced I have found my vocation and could not be more satisfied to say: “I want to be a pharmacist.” It has been a long road where many experiences have taken place but having the opportunity to work at CVS Pharmacy was definitely a huge influence on my decision.
After a few weeks of training to become a Pharmacy Technician at CVS, I realized for the first time that I was in the right place. The more my Pharmacy Manager and the staff trained me, the more passionate I became for the profession. It did not feel like work anymore because I was doing something I could not get tired of. My thirst for learning was such that I finished my training program very fast and, in a few months, I became a Registered Pharmacy Technician. This achievement may seem small, but it was a big step that gave me the opportunity to get officially involved in the healthcare field and serve people by contributing to their well-being. By then, my dream of becoming a Pharmacy Doctor was born.
Two years later, I got a new job offer and started to work at SMP Pharmacy Solutions. This pharmacy became an amazing opportunity, since I would be able not only to continue my professional experience at a “retail” level but also to explore a new horizon. Certainly, there was nothing more rewarding than having this feeling of being a “hero” when patients came to tell me that their treatment was possible because of my help. It was then that I truly understood the importance of this beautiful profession.
