Eligibility

Anyone who will be a full-time graduate student (enrolled in at least 9 credit hours) at an accredited graduate program in the United States between the dates of August 1, 2020 and July 31, 2021 is encouraged to apply.

Application

Please submit your entry by Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 12:01pm CST. Each individual who applies ("Candidate") will be required to write an essay of no more than 2000 characters (approx. 400 words) about the single biggest motivating factor that drives him/her to pursue a graduate degree. The essay must be the authentic work of the Candidate and there may be only one entry per Candidate. All essays become the property of Mometrix and will not be returned. Candidate agrees that the information submitted is correct, that the essay is his/her authentic work and that his/her selection does not violate any law, right, or regulation of any third party. Candidate agrees that his/her essay does not disparage any person.

Selection of the Scholarship Recipients

The judging of applications will be handled by Mometrix staff and are made at its sole discretion. Prior to Friday, May 29, 2020, an evaluation will occur during which a screening committee selected by Mometrix will vote for the best entries. At the conclusion of this evaluation, the two scholarship-winning Candidates will be awarded scholarships of $750 and $400, respectively. The third place winner will be contacted and given the following choice of third-place prize: three-month subscription to one of our online Mometrix University courses -OR- one of our famous Secrets Study Guides and a Flashcard Study System of third-place winner’s choice. Upon selecting and notifying the first- and second-place winners, the funds will be submitted to the US-based college or university the Candidate is attending or planning to attend. For the third-place winner, the materials will be mailed (if necessary) to an address provided by the winner.

General

By submitting an essay, Candidate agrees that the submission shall become property of Mometrix (including but not limited to copyright) and that Mometrix and its agents may exploit, reproduce, publish, edit, adapt and/or modify the essay in any way, in any and all media, throughout the world in continuance, without limit and without compensation, notification or permission of Candidate or any third party. Mometrix reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend this scholarship should malware, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of Mometrix alter, corrupt or impair the agency, security, or fairness of the process. Mometrix shall have the exclusive ability to determine whether a submission satisfies the Official Rules. If the scholarship is canceled, Mometrix may award scholarships using all previously submitted and eligible applications using the judging procedures outlined above. All Candidates agree to release and waive Mometrix from and against any and all claims resulting in connection with their participation. By applying, Candidates agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Scholarships are subject to all applicable local, State and Federal laws. The invalidity or nullification of any arrangement of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provisions. In the event that such arrangement is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be reprised in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable arrangement did not exist.

A list of the winning submissions will be posted on www.mometrix.com/scholarships on or before Friday, May 29, 2020.
