Write an essay where you tell us about what drives you in your pursuit of your graduate degree.

My driving force to purse my graduate degree.

Here I am in my early forties and just obtained my bachelor's degree in 2018, that I thought would never happen, but I stayed consistent in my study routine and it all paid off. It's such a great feeling knowing that I am the first of my parent's children who decided to obtain that goal.

Now, it's 2019 and I'm looking for a career in healthcare, since I have worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 12 years. I felt that since I have my degree, now that employers would be knocking on my door, and that's not the case when it comes to Health IT. Now, my mission is to obtain my master's degree to actually be in a position to make a difference from a higher ranking level even if it's in the organization that I will be working for. This of course can only be done by having a representation and collaborative feedback from clinical providers that are involved with patient care that.

When I worked as a Clinical Care Partner we were always told what the new changes will be without the consideration of our input in the decisions since we are really the ones who have all day hands on the patient. I want to stay connected with those who are where I was. I want them to know that their input goes a long way.

Then, I will speak to the other clinical providers and have their input, on how we are to move forward as a team to ensure the holistic view of patient care is in the forefront from the moment they enter the doors to the day they are discharged, and by following-up comprehension of discharge documents where understood. I truly believe that communication is the key when effectiveness needs to happen across the board. I plan on being that link to assist in better care that feeds into better health outcomes.

That's my take on pursing MY DREAM in the healthcare industry.
