Write an essay where you tell us about what drives you in your pursuit of your graduate degree.
Since I am the first person in my family to go to college, my education is very important to me. My family is incredibly supportive of my decision to pursue higher education and have encouraged me to keep going for as long as I can.
In my undergrad, I obtained a minor in leadership. My master's degree will also be in leadership studies. I chose this as my degree because I plan to take my education into the Air Force to help increase the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership in the military in order to help decrease suicide and depression. Both of which are incredibly high due to the military's continuous shift away from emotion-based leadership. I want to take my leadership skills and help train others in the military to understand that leadership doesn't have to be rigid and stiff. I want to help increase relational characteristics, goal setting, relieve conflict, and many more.
