Write an essay where you tell us about what drives you in your pursuit of your graduate degree.

Before I became a teacher, I knew I wanted to pursue a degree that would allow me to be a principal. Even though I love teaching and the interactions I have with students on a daily basis, I knew I was meant to lean into the skills of leadership and organization that I was given. After two years of teaching, I started to obtain a Master of Science in Education with a major in Educational Leadership. I will graduate in May after two years of hard work toward my goal.
I love teaching because of how exceptional the students are that I teach. When I become a principal and leave the classroom I will miss the students the most. However, I know I am called to impact far more students than I can in my classroom. Becoming a principal will allow me to challenge and nurture students that I did not have the ability to reach before. I have also learned so much about education and its importance through obtaining my master's degree. I am very thankful that I was blessed and able to further my education for the good of students. My life goal is to never stop learning. When I pass away, I want to be known for being a lifelong learner because I never thought I knew everything. I want people to remember me for my inability to accept things the way they are. The students we serve deserve people that will never stop fighting for them. I hope I am known for that.
