Write an essay where you tell us about what drives you in your pursuit of your graduate degree.

In my undergraduate degree of Psychology, I was taught in order to be the best version of myself, I must figure out what my natural gifts and abilities are, and channel my energy into developing those skills. To neglect to do so would be denying my purpose. I found I am gifted in developing relationships with others because of the natural ability to offer compassion, empathy and understanding. Therefore, the career that I felt encompasses these gifts those most is counseling. To become a Licensed Professional Counselor, graduate school is necessary to learn and enhance clinical skills to promote the well-being and avoidance of harm towards clients, which is the backbone of the profession. Finishing my graduate degree is my greatest motivating factor for living out my calling, and is a bonus that I will make a living from it at the same time. When people invest in discovering and enhancing their natural gifts and abilities, the world becomes a better place as individuals offer a unique skill set that caters to a specific need of others.
As a mental health provider, modeling the type of behavior I hope to see in my clients is a priority, which includes taking care of myself and I see this scholarship as a declaration of the law of attraction to have peace of mind for myself and helping others achieve the same.

I treasure the opportunities to learn from and with my clients about the journey of life. Each life has value and dignity to make the world a better place, and it is my pleasure to help others discover how they can enhance the world with their unique gifts and abilities, thereby living out the best versions of themselves.
