Write an essay where you tell us about the moment you realized you wanted to become a teacher.

For me, my greatest inspiration to pursue a teaching a degree is from all the teachers that I have had throughout my years of schooling. I think back to everything they have helped me grow to do and made me realize that the impact they had on my life is the same impact I want to have on future generations. I had a couple of teachers that have helped me know for certain that I want to pursue a teaching career. My eighth-grade homeroom teacher and my eighth-grade English teacher told me multiple times throughout the year in parent-teacher conferences and in the classroom that I should be a teacher, because of the unique set of skills that I have which are needed to be a good educator. They would always say how well I do with the younger kids in the school and that there is a need for teachers with the passion for working with kids and for helping them learn and grow. That set it in stone for me. I love working with kids and enjoy being able to see them get excited to learn. What better elementary teacher qualities are there?
My second greatest inspiration is the children of future generations. I see all the sweet kids in classrooms and the impact that the teachers make on them to be the best that they can be. I would see that and realized that I want to be a teacher for the rest of my life. I want to leave that impact on them throughout their lives. I want to be able to teach them new things and see their ah-ha moments when the new concept finally clicks. I want to have those magical moments between students and teachers where I can help change a student’s life. To have a point where I can be the one who can help a child realize their potential in life. The kids are the greatest inspiration for why I am pursuing a teaching degree. They are the future, and I am going to get the greatest privilege ever to help them conquer the world. Inspirations come from many different people, but mine will always be my past teacher's kind words and children. I will get to teach them.
