Write an essay where you tell us about the moment you realized you wanted to become a teacher.
I have always enjoyed reading and even taught myself how to read when I was 4 years old. In fact, reading was my main hobby growing up and was how I spent the vast majority of my time. I especially enjoyed reading about historical matters and I believe being a teacher would allow me to share my love of reading and history with future generations. I am not quite sure when the thought of becoming a teacher occurred to me, but I can distinctly remember a class I feel laid the groundwork for this desire. My 8th-grade social studies class had a young, first-year teacher who was extremely passionate about the subject. One moment that sticks out in my mind was when we were having a class discussion and I looked over at him and noticed his eyes were lit up like a kid on Christmas. I remember thinking about how great it was to have a teacher who enjoyed his job so much and wishing I could find a career that would offer me that much fulfillment. Eventually, I came to the realization my desire could be met through pursuing a career in education.
