Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.

The reason I am so inspired to pursue the nursing degree is because I have had spinal fusion on my back. However, after my surgery, I had the best care performed by the nurses at the hospital. They showed me that they truly cared if I was okay and helped me make a huge recovery faster than the majority of people who have that kind of surgery. My experience at a hospital was made very at home and I felt cared for. I want to be pursue the career of nursing and make others feel the way I felt when I was going through a tough time in my life. I want to show people that in a hospital, we actually care for you and are giving our 100% to give you what you need to recover. These nurses showed me that I wasn't just a regular patient and treated me as if I was their kid. The main reason I want to pursue this dream in health field is because I want to help others and become the best possible nurse I can be
Furthermore, when I felt truly cared for, it changed my experience and the way I recovered. I would not have been in and out of the hospital in the time being that I did if it wasn't for the amazing care that the nurses provided me every hour. Throughout my nights there, a nurse had to come in and have me breathe through a tube like object and made sure I was okay and comfortable. At some hospitals, people don't get the care they should, and it turns them away from their dreams. I want to be a nurse that helps other people and makes them think about pursuing the career I did, just as the nurses did for me. This was inspiring and I was pushed up by a group of people in one of the hardest times in my life. Additionally, I had seen how much they cared for the other sickly people around me and I thought, "Wow, these people really do care about not just their job, but the people who really need them the most." This was when I was inspired to follow my dream going into a nursing degree.
