Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a burning passion to take care of others. When any of my family members got hurt, from having a small cut to a bruise, I would be the first one wanting to cater to them with a Band-Aid and Neosporin or an ice pack. I have always loved making sure people are cared for when they are hurt, because everyone deserves the care they need. I want to be a nurse because caring for others at their most vulnerable moments is something so vital in the profession of nursing. I truly love the interaction that nurses have with patients, and the firsthand treatment that is provided. Nurses advocate, educate, and support patients and that is the greatest job of them all. I want the opportunity to do all these things for my patient to ensure that they are receiving the best quality care and I can use my skills and education to get them to an optimal quality of life. Nursing is a challenging yet rewarding profession. I have been inspired to become a nurse by the team that took great care of my grandmother in her last days on this Earth. My grandma, known as "Mama," was one of the most important people in my life. Although her health was not the best the nurses made her comfortable and gave her and our family and loving and memorable experience at the hospital despite the circumstances. And I want to do the same and provide a great experience, comfort, and care to my patients and their families.
