Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.

I always thought the world was the most perfect place and never anything different. As you grow up and get older you understand more and more of why everyone says they want to be a little kid again. This is because when you're little you're blinded and shielded to the evil and bad way of the world. Just assuming everyone knows right from wrong and would make the right decision simply because it is the right thing to do, but that is not always the case. We see people get bullied, beaten up, manipulate one another, and in some places not get the beautiful right we have called freedom. Knowing the cruel ways of the world, I have always known that I want to help those in need. That being said what better career path to choose than the medical field. Plenty of people go into the medical field but I truly want to make a difference for those in need.
Growing up I never met anyone bad. Normal things like small arguments would happen here and there, but everything else was seen through my eyes as perfect. This was until I got into an abusive relationship. After I saw what bad just one person could do more and more bad in the world came to my attention. I realized other people were going through what I was going through and life was no longer sunshine and rainbows. Instead of hurting myself in my own situation I wanted to help others who were hurting no matter what the situation was. After I got out of the abuse relationship I promised myself that I would never let anyone I meet or know go through pain or sadness alone. The fact of the matter is someone is always hurting and I wanted to make sure I would be helping those in need for the rest of my life. The best option I believe and that I have always been drawn to doing was going into the medical field. I would not only take care of my patients physically like my job would require, but also mentally and emotionally. As long as I am able to make a positive impact on someone's life I'll be satisfied with life.
