Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.

I've face many hardships in life. Don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful life but with every person comes a story of struggle and strength. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos my sophomore year of high school. This has created many challenges. I struggle with mental stability, weight, skin issues, and a long list of symptoms. I could go on and on. My father also recently has gone back to prison for the second time. For the past semester I have worked full time and attended college full time. The one person that held me down and anchored me is my boyfriend. He left to join the United States army. All my responsibilities are daunting. With all this, I don't expect to be told good job or be rewarded. There is someone out there who is experiencing something a million times worse than me. My purpose is to keep going. To not let anything phase me. I've opened up my eyes to appreciate the little things in life. The people who mean the most. Life is so precious. I want to change the world. I want a future for my children one day. There is so much hate and our planet has environmental struggles. I want to use my science skills and nursing skills to help find solutions. I want to help people. I want a justification for being in this world. Making others happy and healthy. Giving second chances. I want to work in a hospital. I love children and I admire there innocence. Children are all born without views on life or prejudices. I want to influence the youth and encourage our country as a whole to make a change. I can voice my opinions and I don't know how far that will get me, but I can start by making a little change. That change is me becoming a nurse. I can save lives, give people new beginnings, the opportunity of a future. We only have one life. We have to make the best of the time we get on this earth. With all that, I want to be the difference this world needs.
