Tell us a little bit about yourself and your plans for nursing school.

"Every nurse was drawn to nursing because of a desire to care, to serve, or to help." - Christina Feist-Heilmeier

In 2019, amidst the challenges of the Covid pandemic, I, made a bold decision to return to school and pursue my long-cherished dream of becoming a nurse. Despite facing discouragement in 2008 when the competitive nature of the nursing field led me to switch majors, my determination and passion reignited in 2019. The birth of of nephew, born addicted to heroin, served as a poignant inspiration for me to dedicate myself to helping those in need, especially children facing health challenges beyond their control.

My journey towards nursing school includes a vision to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) to pursue a Bachelor of Nursing degree. With a deep-seated desire to make a difference, I aspire to become a travel nurse, providing care and compassion to diverse communities across the globe. My ultimate goal is to specialize in either the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or the Emergency Department, where I can offer my expertise and support to those in critical need.

Through my unwavering commitment and compassionate heart, I poised to embark on a fulfilling career path that embodies the true essence of nursing – to care, to serve, and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
