As a first-generation college student, daughter of immigrants, and brain trauma survivor I am undeviatingly focusing on my future career in nursing. The medical field impacted my life, saving me from a brain tumor at the age of ten. I realized how important surgeons and the medical field in general are. Today I am a healthy normal female with no health complications, thanks to God and the medical field; I am a current student-athlete as well as a work-study employee.

The medical field was able to impact my life by caring for my brain and health, conducting surgery and radiation treatment for my tumor. I regularly receive an annual MRI checkups to track my brain process.
The medical field saved my life allowing me to live a happy and healthy life. I want to contribute to the lives of others by providing healthcare to the community. Caring for the sick and uplifting others is so fulfilling to me. Caring for others providing love to the community is so important and can transform an individual’s life entirely.

I will integrate my faith and values into nursing by valuing every patient and treating them with dignity. Faith plays a great part in nursing by supporting those suffering not only physically but emotionally and spiritually.
Overall, suffering from a brain tumor opened my eyes to the blessings of the medical field. This inspired me to go into the field of nursing to be a light and spread God’s love through nursing. I want to be a light in the lives of people by providing unconditional healthcare. This is very rewarding to know that through the medical field you can
