Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.

As a son of two nurses, a military veteran, and now a father, helping others just seems so natural to me. After choosing to enlist into the United States Army by following in my father's footsteps, I entered into a rigorous training course where I would be required to become fluent in Arabic while also progressing in military tactics and discipline. Along the path of this training, I had to dig down deep and ask myself where my motivation lies, and the answer was clear. I was sent into the military to use my abilities for the betterment of those who cannot help themselves, and I must give it my all in order to do so. A few years after graduating with honors, I was sent to Syria attached with the 5th Special Forces Group to combat ISIS and liberate those whom were oppressed by these tyrants and terrorists. After six months of using my language and other skills, I returned home. I had indirectly helped so many people, but I felt there was more that I could do. Having helped those in need overseas, I had an urge to try to find a way to directly help those in need at home. Nursing is the obvious career choice in order to fulfill this destiny.
