Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.
Everyone in my family is a nurse, from my mom to my aunts and my grandparents. The expectation for me has always been to go into nursing but I did not really care for it at first. All I knew was that I wanted to help people and just be a good person. I've known this from a young age. I have always been the person to extend a helping hand and do my best to harvest positive relationships with everyone I encounter. I am constantly working on ways that I can be a better person for the people in my life and everyone in my scope. After blindly entering into being a nursing major, I did not initially get accepted to nursing school because I was not passionate enough to earn good grades. However, I realized that the pillars of nursing align perfectly with who I want to be as a person. After being rejected and having to work harder, it led me to realize that nursing is the perfect career for me. I get to use my skills to help my community and live the fulfilling lifestyle that I am destined for. Nursing is my vocation. Nursing allows me to exercise kindness and compassion for as many people as I meet and that is what I want to spend my life doing.
