Write an essay where you tell us about what inspired you to pursue a nursing degree.
I have always wanted to help people. Since I was little I have always felt like if I can do anything to help someone in need I will do it. I used to volunteer in animal shelters and donate all of my excess blankets, pillows and other belongings to hospitals and children with illnesses. Once I got into high school and started doing some college research on majors, seeing the nursing degree and all the possibilities it offers just excited me. It was like the ultimate dream for me to get a career helping people every day. Being able to know that I am making a difference in someone's life by helping them heal from whatever ails them, is all I have wanted to do since that college research. Another reason is that since I have reached high school, mostly in freshman and sophomore year, I suffered from some major depression and I felt like I wasn't making any difference in this world. Since I have grown and healed from that, I want to make my life about helping others and pass some healing onto them, so that they can all know that someone is there for them. Seeing innocent people injured every day makes my heart hurt, I don't want anyone to be in pain. I'd just like to make a difference in someone's life, and hopefully, a nursing degree can help me achieve that.
