Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Before this past semester I didn't really see studying as important. However this all changed once Calculus-Based Physics came along. At first all the random numbers and letters I saw in equations didn't make any sense to me, but once I started studying I was actually able to learn the information.
Throughout my first year of college I have formed the perfect list of study tips. I have tried all of these many a time to help me pass a test.
To start off limiting distractions is priority number 1. I used to study with the tv on, however it didn't take long for me to realize that I wasn't learning anything. Many college courses require your full attention so once all your distractions are gone you will be able to focus solely on the task at hand.
Secondly, I find that limiting stress as much as possible helps me learn the best. This means start studying early and don't wait till the last minute. Cramming the night before the test may work for some but that is not the case for me. I find that I get stressed out from this and ultimately don't remember my studies.
Third in my list is to make your studying fun. If I reward myself for getting my studying done or studying in creative ways (such as flashcards, with friends, or using some online form like kahoot) then I retain information much easier, and I find this much more enjoyable than sitting down to read some old textbook.
Finally, think about your health. A good nights rest in the days before the test is crucial to retaining your knowledge. Eating well and working out are also very beneficial to helping you stay happy and healthy. Once I began doing this I found that memorizing formulas and applying them became much easier.
Hopefully these tips help you pass your difficult class just like they helped me pass physics!
