Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

I’d say that my favorite test preparation practice would definitely be organizing my notes into visual cues in the forms of drawings, doodles, and flashcards. After drawing, it is also important to read the facts surrounding the drawings out loud and hearing everything. I noticed early on in school that I am a very visual learner. I also noticed early on that I am a really bad artist! Haha!

In all seriousness, drawing works superbly well for me. I attribute this to what in known as muscle-memory and personal-event memory. When studying, solely using our eyes and ears to learn is not enough. I find writing by hand (not typing), and drawing does something in my brain that “locks” that moment in time into my memory and makes a profound impact in my learning ability. This “hands-on” approach, binding the subject with the event of drawing, along with a visual association makes for spectacular success in my pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. I’m proud to say that my 4.0 GPA corroborates this.
