Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

To me, test preparation is about two things, repetition and community. When I have to study for anything, I hand write the notes at least two times. Listening or reading over something a few times is not good enough, I want to develop firm muscle memory of the notes and help the knowledge to be stored in my long-term memory bank. Community is also essential to my test preparation practices. Before I take an exam I always make sure to have someone else run through the notes multiple times. Studying with someone is so much fun; there is always laughter and jokes and it makes a mundane task of studying exponentially more interesting. Also, often he or she sees the information from a different perspective and can contribute cool acronyms or memory techniques that weren't previously thought of.
