Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

The best test preparation practice that I have is using mnemonic devices. It works well for me because if I am able to remember the first letter of the word then I can typically remember the content itself. Another test preparation tool that I use is that I will study my work and after I feel like I understand the content, I will pretend like I am teaching someone it, or I will teach one of my parent it. This helps me identify exactly what I do not fully understand and shows me what I need to focus on exactly. Another tool that I use while studying is that I create songs based off of the content to real songs that I know and like. This helps the content stick in my brain because it is far easier to learn the words of a song then to just memorize something from a text book. The final tool that I use when preparing to take a test is that I gather all my notes and everything that we have done in class and I rewrite them again in different colors. I write them in multiple colors because forcing myself to switch colors helps me actually have to stop and think about the content as well as re-read it again once it is time to pick up a different color pen. These study tools are the primary way that I study for tests, and they have helped me maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout the entirety of my high school career.
