Tell us a little bit about yourself and your plans for college.

I enjoy participating in school and community based volunteer activities in order to help others. I have participated in the Jewish Relief Agency from September 2022 to the present where I pack and deliver food boxes for individuals and families coping with food insecurity throughout the Philadelphia area. This past summer I volunteered at Holy Redeemer Village, an older adult community to assist with setting and cleaning up the room where the produce was distributed along with facilitating the distribution of the produce to the residents in the senior community. In addition, I volunteered for the Huntingdon Valley Library during the summer going into my Senior year in which I prepared and distributed materials for the summer reading program, facilitated the maintenance of library shelves and the setup and cleanup of summer youth events. I have taken part in the Lower Moreland High School Drama Club, Lower Moreland High School News Club and Lower Moreland High School Honor, Treble and Bass Choirs. In Students Against Melanoma Club, I completed service projects that helped educate others about the importance of sun safety. In the Interact Club, I participated in several service projects to aid my local community in various ways. I had the position of Membership Vice President in 9th grade for the Old York Road Temple Beth Am Youth Group. In 10th and 11th grade, I became the Social Action Vice President. Another leadership position I have obtained is the Programming Vice President for the North American Federation of Temple Youth Pennsylvania Area since my Junior year. The major that I am doing is Public Health, because I am interested in serving my community through providing members with current health related information. The healthier people are, the better their quality of life and work, which can result in more meaningful contributions to the world. I hope through my college education that I will learn how to better serve others in my life to repair the world.
