Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
For a really important test, I will create a study guide the weekend before the test. I do not want to study too early or too late, so finding out when the best time to start studying is the most important part of studying. To create these study guides, I use colored markers and divide everything on the test into topics. I write down key words for the ideas I'm not confident on, otherwise I only write down the name of the idea. I am able to tell if I truly know the ideas I need to know if I can explain the topics to other people. I then casually look at the study guides I have made until the day before the test. When the day before the test comes, my favorite method of studying is speaking about the ideas I need to know to other people. If I can, I talk to other people in the same class. Then comes the most important part of preparing for a test: getting a good night's sleep. If I do not get enough sleep, I cannot perform to my full potential. I also find it very important to eat well, not too little and not too much. Right before the test, I will look over my notes again to ensure that I know all the material needed for the test to the best of my abilities. My secret weapon is bringing tea to the test if I am allowed to stay calm and have something to do if I stress during the test. If I do not know the answer to a question, sometimes a good thing to do is take a break by taking a sip of tea. I know that I have prepared sufficiently and now, as long as I stay calm and work efficiently, I can do my best.
