Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
As a dyslexic student, test preparation was difficult. Though one-on-one coaching helped, I found using on-line study material that I could manipulate with color and font to best support my studies. I also looked for materials that were not standard Times New Roman 12 point font, but engaging visually. Through small, intense study sessions, typically no longer than 30 minutes, I found that I could better retain the information. In addition to limiting the time for studying, I also planned for the study sessions. I would make sure that I was isolated, phone left in another room and focused.
For me, it was that easy - planning, making it engaging, and focusing.
