Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I am homeschooled through Mansfield Christian School. I take a few classes on campus, but most of my study time is at home. I do not like to procrastinate. I like to start early and go through the materials until I am confident in my knowledge and abilities. My peers and teachers sometimes call me an overachiever because I like to do things so thoroughly. But like everyone else, I get distracted sometimes. Something that helps me stay on track and focused is being organized. Not only do I like to keep my things in order, but I also keep a schedule and a list of things that need to be done so that I am sure I do not forget about something. I usually work on my courses in the same order every day. This helps me stay focused on what comes next and it keeps my day going smoothly. Without a smooth day, focus is impossible, which makes studying either a waste of time because you do not take in the information properly, or it does not happen at all. Without organization and proper focus, my preparation for a test or exam might not be what I like it to be. If I am not confident in my knowledge of the material, I do not feel prepared. Therefore, I always make an effort to start early and stay organized and on top of things.
