Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
Before a test in any subject, I first thoroughly look over the material in the chapter the test is over. Then, using the material covered in the chapter, I make a practice test up for myself and I take it. I find that writing all the problems and solutions out by hand help them stick in my memory better than if I were just to type everything out on a computer. It's tiring work, but it gets the job done. I usually take 2 to 3 practice tests in the week leading up to the actual test, depending on the subject covered and how comfortable I am with the material. On tests that I am comfortable with the material, I normally just go online and find practices available. I use Quizlet, for example, already has millions of study guides people have made that are available to study. I watch Khan Academy lessons for math tests just to make sure I understand the material thoroughly. By doing all this work, I feel my chances of scoring well on a test increase dramatically, and I am able to walk into the classroom confidently on test day.
