Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
Being a visual learner can be a bit tricky especially when studying for a large-scale exam such as unit tests or AP exams. In my experiences, my best test preparation practices have been to review the material the same day learning the lesson. To do this I create visually stimulating flashcards that I read out loud and work into real-life examples. Putting effort to design the flashcards help me concentrate on the academic material since I often have to look at the information multiple times before completing the flashcards. Color coding these flashcards have also been extremely helpful in dividing it into sections of most importance (ex. yellow=material I know; green=material I'm not comfortable with; light blue=infomration that will most definitely be on the test). If I can not efficiently allocate some time for my flashcards I opt out for Quizlet. Quizlet is an amazing study tool that contains thousands of digital flashcard folders, which can be learned through visual means of games and practice tests. Aside from academic preparation I also make sure to maintain a healthy diet the days leading up to the test in order to avoid feeling groggy during the test. Sleeping 8-9 hours a night since I am a teenager is also a measure I take to prepare for my tests so I avoid any fatigue that can hinder my scores.
