Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

When preparing for a test, one of the first things I do is fill up a large glass with ice cold water. I set it by my big comfortable chair and pull out the book(s) for the course I am studying. Once I am situated comfortably, I turn on some ambient music to help me focus in on the words in front of me. I start reading through the material and making notes and highlighting everything that I believe would be pertinent to the examination. If necessary, I sometimes make note cards so I can quiz myself before test time for one last time.
Once I am done with the studying portion of the test prep, if it is possible for me to do so, I do some light stretching and yoga before I actually go in to take the test. I find that intentional movement and stretching help get my body caught up with my brain in the functional department. If there is no way for me to do any sort of stretching, I try to go for a short but brisk walk beforehand. I just want to do something that could help rejuvenate me as I head in to take the test.
Finally, as I sit down to test, I say a little prayer because I’ve done everything I can do to prepare, so why not ask for a little extra help!
