Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
Preparing for an exam may seem like a tedious task. The truth is that it can actually be fun and interesting if you're organized. Personally, I enjoy making flashcards and creating visuals. Since I am a visual learner, I enjoy watching videos or creating visuals that capture my attention. I like to color code my notes and organize the sections or topics by using colored sticky tabs. I also like to study with friends or teach family members what I’m learning. When you are able to teach someone what you are doing, you have a better understanding of your topic. Another thing that you can do is study by using the Pomodoro method. This technique breaks down work to 25-minute intervals. After every 25 minutes, you should take a break to avoid feeling burned out. It is very helpful when you feel unmotivated to study. Quizlet is a great way to study for exams because you can create flashcards and play games to make sure you understand certain topics. Creating graphic organizers with drawings is also a great way to engage in your studies. Having visuals to look at leads you to correlate drawings with different lessons you may have learned. Re-reading and answering questions from past exams is fun if you pretend you're playing a game. You can set up a timer and make sure you answer as many questions as you can before the time runs out. Watching videos on youtube on certain lessons is also a very useful tool. There are also many applications you can download for your electronic devices if you fear that you might be investing too much time on your electronics instead of studying for your upcoming exam. Practice makes perfect and the best thing about studying is that you can try many different types of preparation practices until you decide which one fits for you.
