Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

My name is Jose Espindola Neto and I am currently in my last quarter of my junior year. My major is Business Administration with specialization in Supply Chain Management and minor in Business Analytics. I am part-time employee, full-time student, and have been in the Dean's Honors List for 2 quarters consecutively for keeping my GPA at 3.67. Many people ask me: how you balance your academic, professional, and personal life and still have a 3.67 GPA? Well, my answer is very simple: I have my own test preparation practices.

Exams, quizzes, tests... they all mean something to students: challenge them to know their knowledge on the subject. Students can better evaluate their skills when they are challenged, and tests are the best tool for them. Students develop confidence, personality, and determination. I personally take my exams and tests very seriously, and in order to succeed in these tests, I come up with a test preparation in the beginning of the quarter. The last Friday before quarter starts, I set my study schedule. What I do is I check the syllabus for my classes and write down the course schedule. Based on the course schedule, I reserve at least 3 hours to study the material that has been covered on that day. I read the chapter and take as many notes as possible during the 3 hours I have. That helps me to keep up with everything that professor has taught in class.

When I realize I have an exam, I take one day to study one chapter that will be on that specific exam. For each chapter I study, I read it again, and add extra notes on my note sheet, so that I can absolve better what I have studied previously. Then, the day before the exam, I try to take the first half of the day to rest, so I don't get too overwhelmed. Then, the last half of the day I review everything I have studied through my note sheet. Now, after a good test preparation, I am rested and ready to take the exam. This routine has helped me to succeed in all my exams, tests, and quizzes.
