Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

First and foremost it is important to start preparing for a test weeks before the actual test. When you are learning new material keep on practicing or studying the old material as well as the new material so you do not forget it and feel like you need to rush and study it. When I am studying, I first like to make sure that I have a full water bottle and that I have eaten something light (I do this when I study and before the actual test itself). Then I make sure I have all the materials I need like pencils, highlighters and maybe a calculator. When I study, I do not do it in my room where I can get distracted, instead I'll either go to an office area in my house or to the library. Then I put on some noise canceling headphones and get to it. When I were the headphones I do not play music. I wear them because it blocks most outside noise and it makes it easier to get into my own little bauble so that I can concentrate easier.
This works for me because I like to make sure I have everything I need and it make it so that I feel comfortable the whole time I am studying. When I - and most people- study, usually we would rather be doing something else. So I make sure that i have all my materials and that I have eaten and have something to drink so that I do not have excuses to get distracted. But of course it is VERY important to have breaks in between studying. After 30 minutes i always makes sure I have at least a 5-10 minute break so that I do not get burnt out and tired of studying too quickly.
I honestly have a hard time studying. It is something I never really had to do in High School and its something I really had to learn to do in College. These steps work for me. It lets me stay focused and motivated without getting overwhelmed or frustrated..
