Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Honestly the first thing I do when preparing for a test is take good notes as the class progress. Good note taking, for me, have been a life saver. As I speak about some of my preparation techniques below, you'll see that it can be tedious. If your taking 4-6 classes, and have to do this for for each class, it can sometimes prove to be overwhelming. Staying focused on the end result of it all, keeps me moving forward on what has to be done.
As test time get closer, I then began to probe the instructor for as much information about the test as possible. I don’t want to waste any time studying material that will not be on the test. It’s also good to know the layout of the test whether there will be vocabulary, multiple choice, short answers, etc. I also listen more intently for topics or points that are being emphasized. If its already in my notes, I will use a yellow highlighter to note importance.
When preparing for the test on my own, the first goal is to find a quiet space to focus and concentrate on the task at hand. Little things can distract. utilize the white index cards which has worked for me over the years. I do this because writing the information out helps me commit information to memory. I write the question on the front of the card and the answer on the back. if it's definitions, I write the definition on the front of the card and the answer on the back. if it's a short answer, again the question or thought goes on the front and my short answer on the back. I spend a few days on my own reviewing the front of the cards along with the answers on the back of the cards. As i'm reviewing the material, I always read the question aloud as well as read the answers out loud. I then get a family member or classmate to help me review by reading the front of the cards while allowing me to come up with the answer on the back of the card.
As I previously stated, this process of preparing for tests work for me because I learn by reading and writing
