Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I typically do not study for many tests. I pay attention in all my classes and get grades. However, when I do study; I must write everything down. I read in a medical journal that their is a connection between writing information down and retaining that information. I can attest to this. For a difficult biology exam, I would write down every note I took in class over and over again. I would switch from writing and reading my notes ever other day. One day I would copy my notes, the next I would read the notes to myself. I am proud to say that my technique worked! I ended up getting a 95% on the exam. This technique was especially helpful for the SAT. I bought books for me to practice questions and tips. For the math section, I would write down every question and answer it to the best of my ability. Whether I got it right or wrong, I would still practice the questions. I ended up getting a 1220 on the SAT. I would have gotten a higher score, but my calculator broke in the middle of the exam and the proctor did not have an extra one. All in all, writing is the best method of studying. It forces your mind and body to actually get into it.
