Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
I really like this topic because everyone learns differently, and we get to understand more about each other as people when reviewing the responses to this topic. I prepare in a plethora of different ways depending on the subject and knowledge level. When I am preparing for math exams I tend to listen to classic rock on my earbuds while chewing gum. This seems unorthodox; however, I truly believe that utilizing those two techniques compliments my ADHD and allows for maximum focus on the task at hand. Unlike math, history or political science I will usually study for more than two weeks use flash cards with associated information pertinent to the test review materials. Now as for sciences I use study groups and peer to peer questions. I find that for the sciences; social interactions activities like reviews allow me to gauge my personal comprehension progress compared to my fellow classmates as well as allowing my classmates to benefit from any information that we each missed. I understand that these techniques may seem strange, but I find that it is the most effective way for me to study and really strive to meet my academic goals while still building comradery with each interaction that I have with my classmates.
