Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
As a student who becomes easily distracted, it becomes hard to study. However most of the time when I am able to focus, my studying techniques always follow a routine. To begin, I like to look over section notes and hand write them because it helps me start to think about the subjects I will be studying. It does not matter if I already have notes, I will still rewrite them to get my brain warmed up. Once I am done with this, I take a moment to think about what I might be confused about and write it out. These questions I look up online or hold them off to ask my professor, so they get put to the side until I am able to get them answered. The next step I do is go through the notes and highlight anything that seems to be a key term or key point. From this, I create sort of a study guide. I write out the information in a question format for me to go through and answer afterwards so that I can better understand the topics that I am reviewing. For the most part, this study technique has proven to be successful for me and has allowed for me to perform well on many tests. For math subjects, my beginning steps remain the same but when it comes to practice I pull up a textbook that was assigned and just solve questions until I feel like I am proficient enough to move on to a later chapter.
