Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Unlike many students, I do not find test prepping to be stressful. In fact, I usually look at tests as though they will boost my grade. I have a photographic memory, so if I study properly, I can picture the information on my study guide or notes. For this reason, I take extra care in writing notes down. Writing helps you remember, so I write every piece of important information down, rather than just reading or typing. To make sure the information sticks in my brain, I use colored pens to color code my notes. This helps me picture my notes better, so it is not just a giant blob of pencil. Also, it makes writing the notes entertaining, so I am more likely to be absorbing information as I write, rather than just brainlessly copying. I also take breaks when I am studying. I will take a break to talk to a friend or a family member for a few minutes, or to get a snack. This helps me focus strong for the periods of time in which I am actually studying. In addition to writing down notes, I also do practice problems and questions. This is how I make sure that I truly know the content I am going to be tested on. After notes and practice, I know that I am prepared for that big, but not so scary, exam.
