Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Over the years, studying has been a crucial thing for me. Do you ever find yourself constantly studying, and studying, but you still don't get that grade you were after? Well, this past year, that is exactly how I felt. I had one class that I wasn't doing well in and I did not understand why. I was putting in the work and effort. I was studying for hours, but for some reason it just wasn't working for me. So, finally, I decided that it would be best to go talk to my professor, and that was the best decision I made. I learned a complete new way to study. This method wasn't just better, but also was more efficient. I found that making powerpoint's was a great way for me to study. I would take every single one of our test study guides and answer each question on one powerpoint slide. On the powerpoint slides, I would add pictures, details, colors, etc so that I was able to remember and retain all of the information. My professor actually gave me this idea and I have used it not only for this class, but also for every single other one of my classes. This technique really works for me and I think it can be very helpful to others. I am a visual learner and rather than reading through a study guide, I am able to see pictures along with the information. More or less, it helps me to be able to fully understand the things that I am learning. This method helped me from having a really low grade, to a high "B," by the end of the semester. Another thing I find to be helpful is the way that I take notes. When I take notes, I tend to retain and learn the information when I am using colors. These colors can either come from colorful pens or colorful highlighters. I actually will take my notes that were written in class and rewrite them at home. I use the different colors when I am rewriting my notes. The colors I used are based on a key that I made. For example, my blue pen is used for all definitions, and my pink pen is used for the things I need to simply memorize.
