Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

My name is Lily Conover, a student musician for Radford high school. Along with school I work 40 or more hours a week at Hawaii Academy Gymnastics Gym while taking almost all AP and college courses through running start. With this kind of schedule I tend to think, “how could I make this girl’s life easier?” If I wanted to get into m dream school, The University of Tennessee, I would need to study hard. Sometimes I will find myself barely hanging on in my AP classes, which this year consisted of an English language composition class. I am not usually one to be satisfied with average grades because I tend to fight and work hard for what I want. This is why I have come up with a few of my own study methods to get me through he year. So, I came up with a hands on interactive study plan for myself that I could really engage with in my every day life.
Working with a work schedule would be difficult, At my job, employees get at least a 30 minute break with their shifts. I decided to create a portable study plan to make it easier to bring to work or just about anywhere. A binder, with different sections based off the needs of the user would come in handy. The first section, had the link to a Khan academy Reading and English practice test that would contribute to boosting time management with test taking and overall gaining more knowledge for the multiple choice portion of the AP test. In the second section, I put post it notes where on a sheet of blank paper in columns, where I could write vocabulary words I was unfamiliar with. So when I would lift up the post it on the paper, the definition of the word would be underneath. Knowing what kind of content to put into the essay's especially for an English class portion is difficult, which prompted me to make T-charts for each of the three essays from the AP test. Argumentative, Rhetorical and Synthesis. Twice a week I can copy down what goes into each essay so I can memorize how to write each essay for the real AP test.
