Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

I am an international student, so I have to submit the TOEFL score, one of the scores to evaluate the English level of foreign students when I apply to the universities. In order to improve my test score, I made a study plan for myself. This schedule required me to wake up at 6:30 in the morning, memorize at least 50 new English words, review all the words I have memorized before, write a three hundred words essay in 20 minutes, do two listening tests, and practice the speaking parts. That was heavy work and I do not believe I can do it at the beginning.
The work was so heavy that I do not have the energy to execute my plan, so I have did not finish my plan for the first week. I always wake at 7:45 in the morning so that was so hard for me to change the time I wake at the beginning. I felt so tired when my alarm clocks awoke me on time-waking that early was simply torture of me. I cannot leave my warm bed! I have to use the grit to push myself to leave my bed and try to make some coffee that I will not stay in my bed forever. When I was making the coffee and listening to the listening test I am feeling productive and alert. That is the power from the delay of gratification. When I realize it, I will not be afraid to wake up at 6:30 anymore. I start to enjoy the feeling of working. And I know that if I can wake up at 6:30, I can finish all of my planes and that will help me improve my TOEFL score. My grit pushed me to keep executing my plan and do the things I do not want to do. It is a powerful motivation to achieve an objective. Because of the grit, I did not give up my plan and improved my TOEFL score.
Preparing for the test was boring and toilsome, if we find the right way to study and never give up our plan that we will achieve our goal.
