I don't think that I have the best test preparation skill, however, I know what works for me. Initially, I have to clear my mind by going outside and play basketball. Some individuals sit and do yoga, and others listen to soothing music to helps them clear their minds to prepare the mind to acquire information, yet mine is basketball. It is my way to improve my skills and clear my mind, which actually takes approximately thirty to forty-five minutes. Afterwards, I go to my serene environment - which is my bedroom - with a healthy snack and also my gallon of water. The snacks would either consist of trail mix nuts, carrot and celery sticks, or raisins, just to name a few. They actually replenish my body's energy that was lost during my work out and decreases my hunger before my main meal time. You would be amaze as to how well a healthy snack improves your ability to focus, which is important, especially, when trying to tackle challenging information in such subjects as Calculus and Chemistry. And there are times when my usual routine does not quite allow me to acquire information as I should - which indicates that my body is exhausted and needs some rest. I then take a twenty to thirty minute nap. I wake up feeling refresh and ready to study! Many people don't realize how refreshing a nap is until they take are actually force by their body to take one. My routine has helped me as a student athlete to maintain my 3.5 GPA and score a 23 on the ACT. I feel as if I could have done better on the ACT if I had invested more time into studying, nonetheless, I did get accepted into my dream college, Morehouse College, to pursue my dreams of becoming a healthcare professional to help our underprivileged communities become healthier, both mentally and physically.
In conclusion, as stated previously, my test preparation skills may not work for some individuals, however, it works really well for me and would encourage others to try it.
